CORE Integration Guide

This guide will walk you through integrating the CORE API with your OpenAssistantGPT chatbot.

Overview

CORE is the world's largest aggregator of open access research papers, providing access to millions of research papers from journals and repositories worldwide. The service offers full-text content along with rich metadata, enabling comprehensive research paper discovery and analysis. It features advanced search capabilities, content recommendation, and analytical tools for understanding research trends.

Integration Steps

1. Review API Documentation

First, visit the CORE API documentation to understand the available endpoints and how they work.

2. Create Custom Action

In your OpenAssistantGPT dashboard:

1. Go to the Actions Dashboard
2. Click "Create New Action"
3. Chose Get or Post
4. Fill the action form with the following details:

Name: get_core_data

Description: Get data using CORE

URL: https://core.ac.uk/services#api?ref=public_apis&utm_medium=website

Parameters: This will depend on the API you are integrating. Parameters are query parameters passed in the URL.

3. Assign Action to Your Chatbot

1. Go to your Chatbot Dashboard
2. Select your chatbot
3. Go to "Settings" > "Actions"
4. Add the get_core_data action to your chatbot

Using the Integration

Your chatbot can now handle science & math-related queries. Here are some example questions you can ask:

• Find open access papers on climate change
• Search for research in artificial intelligence
• Get related papers in biomedical science

The chatbot will automatically use the CORE API to fetch and return the requested information.
